The Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque is one of the most magnificent mosques in the Asia-Pacific region, completed in 1958 and named after the 28th Sultan of Brunei. Its golden dome dominates the Bandar Seri Begawan skyline, and it is surrounded by a lagoon where a ceremonial stone boat (a replica of a 16th-century royal barge) rests. Italian marble, English crystal chandeliers, and Saudi Arabian carpets adorn the interior.
