About This Sacred Site
Koobi Fora, on the eastern shore of Lake Turkana in northern Kenya, is one of the world's most important sites for understanding human evolution. Part of the UNESCO-listed Lake Turkana National Parks, it has yielded hundreds of hominin fossils, including Homo erectus and Homo habilis.
