⛪ Sacred Heart Cathedral (Suva)
Fiji
About This Sacred Site
The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Suva is the principal Catholic church in Fiji and the seat of the Archdiocese of Suva. Built in 1902 from local sandstone, the Romanesque Revival cathedral serves Fiji's substantial Catholic population, which includes both indigenous Fijians and Indo-Fijians. The cathedral has been a center of community life through colonial rule, independence (1970), and political upheavals. Its simple but dignified interior reflects the Pacific island Catholic tradition.
