The Kondoa Rock Art Sites in central Tanzania contain one of the most impressive collections of rock art on the African continent. Spread across the eastern slopes of the Masai escarpment, the paintings span thousands of years and depict humans, animals, and abstract symbols. Many of the sites are still considered sacred by local Sandawe and Hadza communities, who continue to use them for ritual purposes including rainmaking ceremonies and healing rites.
