The Grand Mosque of Ngaoundéré is the spiritual center of one of Cameroon's most important Islamic cities. Ngaoundéré, the capital of the Adamawa Region, has been a seat of Fulani Islamic culture since the early 19th century when the Fulani jihad established the Lamido (emirate) of Ngaoundéré.
