About This Sacred Site
Dwarkadheesh Temple in Dwarka, Gujarat, is one of the four sacred Char Dham pilgrimage sites and is believed to stand on the site of Lord Krishna's ancient kingdom. The five-story temple, also known as Jagat Mandir, towers over the Arabian Sea and is supported by 60 columns. Hindu tradition holds that the original city of Dwaraka was built by Krishna and later submerged by the sea.
