The Dome Church (Toomkirik), officially the Cathedral of Saint Mary the Virgin, is the oldest church on mainland Estonia, believed to have been founded in 1233. Situated on Toompea Hill in Tallinn's old town, this Lutheran cathedral is famous for its collection of elaborate 17th–19th century coats of arms belonging to the Baltic German nobility. The church also contains the tomb of Swedish military hero Pontus de la Gardie and explorer Adam Johann von Krusenstern.
