About This Sacred Site
Data Darbar is the shrine of Hazrat Ali Hujwiri, known as Data Ganj Bakhsh ('the one who bestows treasures'), an 11th-century Sufi saint who is credited with bringing Islam to Lahore. His tomb is the most visited Sufi shrine in South Asia, drawing hundreds of thousands of devotees weekly who come to seek spiritual blessings, healing, and guidance. The shrine complex includes a mosque and langar (free kitchen) that feeds thousands daily. Hujwiri's book Kashf al-Mahjub is one of the oldest Sufi texts in Persian.
