The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Comayagua is one of the finest colonial churches in Honduras, completed in 1711 in the country's former capital. The cathedral houses a Moorish-style clock dating to around 1100 CE, originally from the Alhambra in Granada, Spain—one of the oldest functioning clocks in the Americas. Its ornate Baroque altarpieces and religious art reflect centuries of devotion.
