Cetinje Monastery is the seat of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral and one of the most treasured religious sites in the country. Founded in 1484, the monastery houses extraordinary relics including what is believed to be the right hand of St John the Baptist and a fragment of the True Cross. Cetinje, the old royal capital, has been the spiritual heart of Montenegrin Orthodoxy for over five centuries.
