About This Sacred Site
The Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) at Livingstonia sits dramatically on a plateau overlooking Lake Malawi. Founded in 1894 by Scottish missionary Dr Robert Laws, the Livingstonia Mission became one of the most influential centres of Christianity and education in Central Africa. The stone church, reminiscent of Scottish Presbyterian architecture, features beautiful stained-glass windows depicting scenes from Malawian Christian history and serves as a pilgrimage site for Presbyterians across southern Africa.
