About This Sacred Site
The Cathedral of Our Lady of Fair Haven is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Roseau, located in the capital city of Dominica. Originally built of wood in 1730 by the French, the cathedral was reconstructed in stone multiple times due to hurricanes and fires. The current Romanesque Revival structure, built from local volcanic stone, features beautiful stained-glass windows and serves as the spiritual centre for the island's predominantly Catholic population.
