The Tomb of King Tongmyŏng (Dongmyeong) in Pyongyang is the burial site of the legendary founder of the Goguryeo Kingdom (37 BCE – 668 CE). Part of the UNESCO-listed Complex of Goguryeo Tombs, the site holds deep spiritual and nationalistic significance. King Tongmyŏng (Jumong) is revered as a divine figure in Korean mythology, said to be the son of a heavenly deity and a river god's daughter. The rebuilt tomb complex includes the burial mound, a memorial temple, and stone guardians.
