The Cathedral of St Elizabeth in Košice is the largest church in Slovakia and the easternmost Gothic cathedral of its kind in Europe. Built between 1378 and 1508, the cathedral is a masterpiece of late Gothic architecture with a richly decorated north portal and stunning interior. It houses the tomb of the Hungarian revolutionary leader Francis II Rákóczi, returned from exile in Turkey in 1906.
