Latvia
About This Sacred Site
Rundāle Palace, often called the 'Versailles of the Baltics,' is an 18th-century Baroque and Rococo palace in southern Latvia designed by Bartolomeo Francesco Rastrelli, the architect of St. Petersburg's Winter Palace. The palace chapel is an exquisite Rococo space with gilded stucco, painted ceilings by Italian artist Francesco Martini, and a lavishly decorated altar.
