Riga Cathedral (Rīgas Doms) is the largest medieval church in the Baltic states and the seat of the Archbishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia. Founded in 1211, the cathedral is a blend of Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque styles accumulated over eight centuries. It is world-famous for its magnificent organ, built in 1884 by the German firm Walker & Company with 6,718 pipes — at the time, the largest organ in the world. Franz Liszt and other celebrated composers have performed here.
